connection between client and server

Hi, I have installed poezio as my xmpp client and ejabberd as the server and I am having problems to make a client-server connection, I get the error: "Disconnected from server: End of stream" so I can't communicate with another client. It is a college paper, I would appreciate if you could please help me with this.
